In big cities, subway is considered as a basic solution to reduce traffic and air pollution in big cities. The high speed of transportation and its low cost have led to the expansion of the use of the subway. The ever-increasing development of the subway and increasing its use requires equipping facilities and reducing risks.

Subway fires are one of the most important issues that must be considered due to crowding and difficult access during rescue time and the complexity of fire fighting. The power supply system is known as the main cause of fires reported in subways in different regions of the world.

Tehran subway includes Tehran City Train as well as “Tehran and Suburban Railway Company” which is operating on seven main lines. Five of its lines (2, 3, 4, 6, 7) are completely inner city, one line is relatively suburban. According to the development plans, Tehran subway lines will be increased to 11 lines. As of November 1400, the length of the operated subway lines is equal to 253.7 km with 143 stations. The total number of Tehran subway trips in March 2019 was 9540 million trips, which shows the increase in the use of this means of transportation.
